Twenty years ago, in a small town Kuków at the foothills of Beskidy mountains, a children furniture factory has been opened – called PACYGA Import/Export. Since then PACYGA became one of the leading furniture producers, cherishing not only the comfort of its clients, but also safety. The users of the furniture are, after all, children.

The company itself, however, is a bit older and begins in 1991 in Lachowice nearby, where the company’s founder, Krzysztof Pacyga, began to make chess. This small, as one might claim, business venture quickly gained momentum and transformed into furniture production, and the factory, initially located in a house garage, was moved to a bigger production area. The arguably groundbreaking event was the decision to start cooperation with IKEA, which lasts since 1993 to this day. In the beginning most of the products delivered to IKEA were simple and unpainted, like wooden chests and boxes. Currently the variety of products offered to IKEA includes more complex items, like children’s beds, changing tables or tables – all painted in a chosen color.

Thanks to the relocation of PACYGA to Kuków in 1996 a new factory has been opened. It has grown from 200 square meters to around 11.000 square meters of production area. The company is also remarkable due to its fully automated production and modern, very efficient machines, which allows to meet expectations of customers all over the world.

The main aim of PACYGA is to make children’s items – an arguably difficult task. However, as we may clearly see, neither does the owner, nor do employees be afraid of challenges, and all do face them perfectly well. A proof for that are the collections made by PACYGA, reaching customers via stores in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, France, Sweden and Latvia, as well as through the online store (www.pacyga.com.pl). They can mainly be divided into two groups – teen furniture (e.g. Oh’range) and kids furniture (e.g. Hello Baby, Teddy, Kitty). In their creation PACYGA collaborates mostly with the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, as well as with designers from all over Poland. The oldest collections are Lena and Kacper. The newest one, Eko Kids, has been designed entirely by PACYGA employees.

PACYGA collections are known for their originality, functionality and modernity. Harmoniously chosen furniture colors make each set have a theme of its own – fairytale, relaxation, energetic. They are comfortable, elegant, efficient, and what is most important – safe.

During the production of the furniture only the fine selection of strictly natural materials is used, those chemically and mechanically tested in well-known laboratories all over the world (TUV Rheinland, WKI Braunshweig, CATAS Italy, INTERTEK USA, AFRDI Australia). All constructions are additionally tested for resistance in the laboratory dedicated especially for this purpose and founded by the company in 2007. Moreover, thanks to a properly equipped paint shop it is possible to use water and acrylic UV varnish, which are safe for the user.

PACYGA is also a company that puts a great value in environmental protection (FSC® certificate) and its products are branded by TAURON Eko Premium, confirming the exclusive use of renewable energy throughout the production process (hydroelectric water plants).

In the end it is worth to emphasize once more that modernity, comfort and safety in connection with highest quality of products and meeting customers’ needs are basic drives of the PACYGA philosophy, which in the times of grand competition on the furniture market is arguably an asset.
