MariKo – that is Marika Kołonowicz, Artist, Designer, Designer, founder of the Artistic Studio MariKoDESIGN.pl He has numerous achievements on the domestic and foreign markets, creates unique projects and fights with the current fashion, which, among others Lead to global warming.
– Hello MariKo, thank you for accepting the invitation.
– Hello, thank you for the invitation (smile).
– You are a creative person, diversity speaks through your work. Where do you get inspiration from?
– The range is really diverse. It’s hard to fit me into one handicraft trend, because I create: painted denim jackets (I affectionately call them ‘denims’), Scandinavian-style wall posters, linear patterns drawn or painted with unusual shapes, mainly faces. It’s already interesting, and there are also unique earrings “MariKo Design.pl” gaining an increasing number of recipients in Poland and abroad (New York, California, Spain, Norway). Winter xxl scarves, oversize cardigans, sweaters, seasonal chimneys – hoods, hats, blankets for babies. Among the rich offer you can also find homedecorative products in the form of various format candles or plaster products. I think that if someone is creative and observes the clothing and home decor industry, they are able to come up with unique and unique products. I am fascinated by people and their behavior, hence I certainly draw inspiration from human behavior and their needs. I meet these needs by creating original and unique products that can be used for many years. And most importantly, I create ecological fashion using second-hand materials. Awareness of ecological fashion equals social responsibility. It is worth betting on free fashion serving customers for many years.
– At this point, I would like to develop the theme of conquering foreign markets. You have really impressive achievements in this field, tell our readers where you managed to get with your projects.
– Oh, that was a bit of a thing. I works with LA Artists, creating an amazing atmosphere, thanks to which the outlines for exciting and promising projects are created. I was noticed by local TV stations, with some I also managed to establish cooperation. An example may be the presentation of a MariKoDESIGN.pl brand jacket with a rocket motif embroidered on the back, which could be seen at Lady Rocket Space (a promoter of the space sphere from LA / USA), who wore it during the launch of the Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral and broadcast upload all on your channels. In recent months, one of my jackets was donated by the Lady Rocket Space Foundation to the Ukrainian School located in Lviv as a gesture of support and friendship.
In addition, my products are worn by famous personalities from e.g. LA, NY, California, e.g. the well-known New York influencer Dayle, whom we know on Instagram as @artfulcitystyle.
My foreign activity was also noticed in Poland, where I received the title of the Ambassador of Polish Handicraft in 2021, and in October 2022. I received the title of Ambassador of Pomeranian Culture.
– You recently created the “COSMOS” collection, what’s in it, tell me the details?
– The new MariKoDESIGN.pl brand collection was released on November 15, 2022. and wraps her in hand-crocheted tops, hats and scarves. Subdued colors perfectly match the autumn and winter aura – a cosmically fashionable look is guaranteed.
– MariKoDESIGN.pl is also famous for earrings, are there any new models in the latest collection?
– Lovers of unique jewelry in the “COSMOS” Collection will also find something for themselves. Moon earrings in three sizes to choose from will surely appeal to those who like to play with fashion. These jewelry accessories will attract attention. For people who prefer delicate jewelry, I have prepared minimalist earrings with planets in five color variants: navy blue, purple, green, orange and yellow.
– Sounds really fantastic, so “COSMOS”, is a real gradka for fans of the Cosmos?
– Yes definitely. If you are fascinated by space, you can always express it through fashion by choosing coats from the “COSMOS” brand by MariKoDESIGN.pl. In this type of denim coat, you will certainly not pass through the streets of your city indifferently, you will become a star at an event and a queen at a meeting with friends. Strong anchor points in the coat from the latest collection are vertical rectangles placed along the entire length of the back and the front part of the coat. They depict the galaxy and life in space, as well as hand-sewn black roses, symbolizing the dying Earth.
– I can see that a strong element of the collection is emerging. A coat with a message?
– It would seem that fashion has no voice. However, I am of a different opinion and I say that slow fashion can convey a lot. The coat carries a message and every person who buys it will help support the fight against the climate. This product is made of recycled materials and is truly unique in its uniqueness.
– Sounds great. And what about home hearth lovers, have you prepared something for them as well?
– Of course, I haven’t forgotten about the householders. In the latest “COSMOS” collection we will also find ceramic accessories in the form of trays for jewelry, decorative and atmospheric elements, moon candles suitable both as a decorative element and a pleasant evening light maker. If I may reveal more, the icing on the cake of this unique and wonderful collection are pins and fridge magnets with space graphics. Patterns are original projects of Photographer and Graphics @piotrtdeyna who was invited to cooperate and create “COSMOS”.
– I’m listening and I’ll be tempted for a piece of cake from this collection myself. Congratulations, because it’s a great thing and a lot of work. I’m already your fan!

– Who do you direct your projects to?
– I direct my products to decisive, self-confident people who like color, uniqueness and have no objections to wearing MariKo fashionably, but as I mentioned earlier, the diversity of my assortment allows me to reach a wide audience.
What makes your products stand out?
– My products are definitely distinguished by the fact that they are 100% handmade, which makes them so unique. I put my whole heart into every project I create. Owning something from my collections is like reaching for an exceptionally ecological piece of track and contributing to increasing the group of responsible consumers.

In October this year in the Plebiscite for Ambassadors of Pomeranian Culture organized by Etno Pomorze, she received the title of Ambassadors of Pomeranian Culture 2022.
