The Necker Cup is six-day / five-night, all inclusive world class Pro-Am Tennis Event hosted by Sir Richard Branson on Necker Island in The British Virgin Islands. The 2016 event is scheduled for November 14- November 19, 2016.

The purpose of the Necker Cup is to harness the collective love for tennis, business, fun and affinity for paradise benefitting various charities and doing good. A percentage of all proceeds go to benefit Virgin Unite, the National Tennis Foundation & ATP/WTA players charities. In the last two years the event has raised over $3mil and hope to increase this each year!

The event is considered to be the world’s most exclusive Pro-Am tennis event and over the past few years has featured Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg, Martina Navratilova and many other tennis legends. Sixteen (16) ATP / WTA Tour Players / Legends are paired up with sixteen (16) amateur teams of all levels, who compete in this fun and spirited tennis competition. A handicapped scoring format makes it competitive for every player. Teams consist of one pro and up to two amateurs who compete to win their bracket and earn a chance to play in the Necker Cup Finals to be held on November 18. That evening, they host a Charity Gala Dinner & Auction up at the “Great House” on Necker, where all of the auction proceeds go to the supported charities. Following the gala dinner, all of the guests then “party hard” at our “End of the World Party” where approx. 300 people dance away on Necker’s private main beach. As well as great tennis, participants engage in typical Necker Island activities like paddle boarding, sail boat races, kite boarding (Sir Richard’s favorite), wake boarding, snorkeling, massage therapy, beach tennis, parties and more.

Necker Island

These words frequently used on the island are the perfect introduction to the entirety of the Necker Island experience. From the first experience to the last of regretfully departing the island, Necker Island is second-to-none.

The first introduction any guest who comes to Necker Island

has is the initial approach. Leaving Tortola behind, Necker appears as a beautiful tropical green and white wonderland located in the Caribbean waters. There are no amenities lacking on the island, and each of the suites and Bali cottages features exorbitant comfort and panoramic views of the island and ocean.

Once settled, there are countless enjoyments and activities on Necker Island. For the social, cocktail gatherings, fine dining and dinner parties abound. Mix and mingle with fellow guests, PGA Legends such as Greg Norman and our gracious host, Sir Richard. Feeling too sedentary? Fear not, as Necker boasts a multitude of activities and water sports. Activities can vary from paddle boarding to sailing, beach tennis to the trampoline, billiards to tennis and much more. Guests may also explore the island oasis in all its natural glory with an island hike to encounter giant tortoises, the native lemurs, families of flamingos and other wildlife that call Necker home.

For those seeking their adrenaline rush, there is wind surfing and Sir Richard’s favorite water sport, kite surfing. Necker has trained and helpful staff on hand to assist with nearly any activity on the island.
